About our Residency Programme

Set up in 2013, the residency programme is integral to the philosophy of the LimeWharf. LimeWharf Residencies enable creative practitioners to use our spaces for research and inspiration, generating new works and experimentation in their artistic practice. Since its establishment, and in response to LimeWharf’s broad cultural mission and eclectic, diverse programming, the residency programme has hosted a vast range of artists, designers, makers and musicians – photographers, architects, designers, ceramicists, musicians, costume designers, theatre groups, performance artists, and many more.

Engaging with visitors
Public engagement is a large part of the residency programme with residents encouraged to hold regular open studios where visitors can come into the studio, see the resident at work and ask questions about their practice. In addition to this, residents have the opportunity of working with LimeWharf staff to develop performances, workshops, talks, lectures and activities for a range of audience members, which depending on the resident’s interests and experience can include schools, families, students, adults and community groups.
